Sniffles and Snuggles + Congee Recipe

Even on the days where I have to lay in bed all day while blowing my nose every five minutes, these two make me smile.  Myself as well as the weather are feeling pretty icky right now, but I did manage to make a big pot of congee to warm us up and to help get some healing energy into my system!!! 

Nourishing Congee Soup

 8 Cups Vegetable Broth ( I made mine fresh by simmering onions and cabbage for an hour and then removing them)

1 Cup Whole Grain Brown Rice
Fresh and fermented Garlic ( I use fermented for an added flavor, its mild and sweet with a tang)
1 drop Lemongrass Essential Oil 
Mushrooms
Oregano
Black Pepper
Sea Salt ( himalayan or celtic)

Simmer all ingredients in a pot until desired consistency ( cook less time for more of a soupy consistency, cook longer for a thick porridge consistency)
