I hate throwing away parts of the vegetables that I don't use while cooking, and while perusing around on the internet I found the idea of a regrown garden, and I got pretty excited! The idea is that some vegetables can produce new growth from the root bottoms of vegetables, the parts that normally get discarded. Ive got Romaine lettuce (right), Celery (Middle), and Green Onions (left) in teacups with water. Im not sure how the celery will work but seeing as I use it often I thought I would give it a try. The green onions are growing fast, and have sprouted new roots! I think I might transfer the Celery and Romaine into some dirt after they sprout more roots. I love the idea of being able to use these bits of plants that normally get thrown out, or if I had a place for a compost pile they would get reused that way. I also love being able to bring something back and create new life all over again! I think I might start sprouting wheatgrass in tea cups, it just looks so cute!
All my love,
